Seriously though, this is the hottest week so far her in the burgh and I am feeling it. I always feel like there is a puddle of sweat somewhere and my face is all blotchy and red. Given the temps, I am starting to question my crafting sanity. In a heatwave, I am working on knitting and crocheting blankets. Yes blankets, maybe there is something to heating the inside after all.
Hue Shift Afghan
This blanket has been featured the past couple of weeks. I finished the first column of blue on Quadrant 2 and started the light blue column. I haven't kept up the pace but I have been trying to keep this project moving forward. I can't wait until fall to snuggle under my stripey blanket.

Anyway, that was my week. Hope yours is going well.

You're making awesome progress on both blankets. Sometimes hibernating projects just need the right inspiration to come along - sounds like one pattern did it for another :) I still think you're completely nuts to be working on blankets in this heat, though!
ReplyDeleteI think I am nuts too. At least my craft spot is by the air conditioner.
DeleteOhh blankets! I love blankets, and these looks great. Love the patterns and colors you chose...
ReplyDeleteI really should be making more blankets/afghans, I've only made one so far .
Thanks. I haven't actually finished one so hopefully I can get all three done at once.
DeleteI think knitting blanket *squares* is a good idea in hot weather as you don't have masses of fabric sitting in your lap. Knitting blocks on to blankets or sewing up blankets in hot weather is a touch eccentric.
ReplyDeleteWell I am trying to just do the squares but I got ambitions and started to put the one together. I agree though, the heat has fried my brain.
DeleteYour striped afghan is great - I want to make one of those!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, it's really easy but a bit time consuming for a slow knitter like me.
DeleteIt's never too hot to knit blankets!
ReplyDeleteI am starting to agree. As one of my knitting friends said, "The muse wants what the muse wants"
